About the New Picture House

For more than 95 years, the New Picture House has been at the heart of St Andrews life. Opened in 1930, the cinema quickly became a beloved landmark where generations of locals, students, and visitors came together to share stories on the big screen. From first dates to family nights out, its art deco façade and classic auditoriums hold nearly a century of memories.

Today, that legacy continues with T-Squared Social St Andrews, which proudly calls the New Picture House home. We’ve restored and reimagined the building as a modern social hub—while preserving the magic that made it iconic. The New Picture House still features a dedicated cinema showing the latest films, ensuring that movies remain at the heart of the experience.

But the story doesn’t stop there. Alongside the traditional theatre, we’ve introduced a stage cinema where film meets fanfare—think live sports on massive screens, watch parties, concerts, and events that bring the community together in new ways. Add in elevated dining, craft cocktails, state-of-the-art sports simulators, and live entertainment, and the New Picture House is once again a place where unforgettable nights are made.
